Charity Spotlight

As you may remember, in February, we celebrated reaching the milestone of donating £50,000 in grants to several charities via the Community Foundation.

This month we are shining a light on another charity we support through the Community Foundation, ‘Emmaus North East’ whose aim is to work together to end homelessness through empowerment, enablement, and involvement. 

Emmaus is a flagship social enterprise, and thus a homelessness charity with a difference, as it is not a hostel for the homeless, and they don’t just offer a hot meal or a bed for the night. Rather they provide ongoing support to people who have experienced homelessness, as well as funded training, companionship and meaningful work experience through community and social enterprises.

In essence, the Emmaus community helps those who have been homeless, discover new confidence and self-respect through working with others and contributing to the life of the wider community, such as, schools and churches, whose aim is to work together and towards ending homelessness.

Here at Pattinson Estate Agency, for this charity alone, we have donated £1,000.00 this past year, which has gone towards move-in/resettlement packs for homeless people in the region.
