April Property Market Update

2024 is a year which is flying, and it seems like no time since we sent out the February update.

The property market in the North East continues to have momentum. In March we listed and sold more properties than the previous year.  And this year, to date there are significant increases in the volumes of properties being bought and sold across our branch network in the North East which is excellent to see.  

Easter and the Spring is traditionally a time where the property market receives a bit of a boost. Often sellers wait until the spring to market their home when their garden is looking its best, or they have had the chance to have a good ‘spring clean’ and completed some of the small maintenance jobs.

My advice for buyers who want to be in their new homes for the summer, is you need to be acting quickly, due to the continued delays in time scales for exchange and completion. Even with a short chain, the timescales are often four months from an offer being accepted to completion.
