Lettings Update for October

4October

A word from our Head of Residential Lettings, Jonathan Parker...

The Government have confirmed that the changes to EPC requirements for rental properties that were due to come into force in 2025 (for new tenancies) have been scrapped. The requirement for rental properties in the private rented sector will continue to be a minimum of an 'E' EPC Rating. The focus instead will be on a continual improvement in standards.

A BBC report established that as many as 6 out of every 10 rental properties failed to meet the proposed legislation - no doubt a contributing factor in this 'U' turn.

This will likely come as a huge relief to landlords and tenants who were facing significant upgrade costs and massive reduction in the number of rental properties available.

Having a professional property management agency to manage your property has never been more important. Feel free to contact Pattinson Estate Agency today to find out more!
