Sunderland

There’s never been a better time to consider Sunderland as it is continuing to prove itself as a city for thriving new investment and is upholding its recognised status as one of the best places to live and do business in the UK.

Sunderland is home to many big name companies and industries, such as Nissan, but also outdoor performance clothing manufacturers, supermarket distribution centres, fireproof wiring cables companies and bespoke beer brewers. Sunderland is no longer just about heavy engineering - jobs in all areas are widely available, so there is no better time than to relocate and live in Sunderland.

There is no need to worry about transport links either, Sunderland has a comprehensive transport infrastructure: a deep-sea port, two regional airports, easy access to the A19 and rail routes including a direct rail link from Sunderland to London Kings Cross.

Nissan’s Sunderland Plant has been the UK’s largest car producer for 15 years running. It has also been the biggest car exporter for 13 consecutive years and is the only car plant in UK automotive history to reach the million mark with one model, the Qashqai.

Representing over £3.5 billion of investment, Nissan’s presence in Sunderland has led to companies such as Valeo, Tacle, Calsonic Kansei, Hashimoto and Unipres to set up manufacturing bases in the region and now directly employs around 6,000 staff, with a further 23,000 posts supported in the North East and wider UK supply chain.
