Gosforth

The origin of this area's name is thought to have come from the title Gese Ford, meaning "the ford over the Ouse", referring to a crossing over the local River Ouse.

In more recent times Gosforth has become popular suburb in the Newcastle area, this may be because of the schools, with a large number of the regions private education establishments being located here. They are well known for good results and a lot of parents strive to be within the catchment area for their children's education.

Gosforth has excellent transport links with having both a Metro and many local bus services running often. A recent development of new homes at Great Park has proven very popular with professionals, couples and young families.
