Keith Pattinson Company History

Pattinson Estate Agency was launched by Keith Pattinson on 4th July 1977.  It is no coincidence that it was Independence Day because being independent is central to our company ethos. We have grown from one office, with one man selling three properties, to 26 offices across the North East, with over 250 members of staff.  We don't just sell houses, we also have Commercial, Property Management and Auction departments which are growing at a rapid and exciting geographical pace!  We are also proud members of the RICS.

In almost 46 years, our estate agency has developed and grown a huge amount, and we are proud to be leading the way.  When Keith first started, he offered 'free valuations' and other agents laughed at the idea!  Now estate agents would never charge for valuations.

As the agency expanded, we purchased a property management company and became one of the first estate agents to offer sales and lettings, and we still work with some of our original landlords, over 35 years later!

We have always embraced technology and were one of the first agents to develop a website, use a digital database, and continue to offer a superior service to our customers. We diversified into property auctions over 30 years ago, offering not only a traditional option of an exchange of contracts on the fall of the hammer but also a 'Conditional Auction' with 28 days to exchange contracts for buyers requiring mortgages. This national auction network has now moved online for live online bidding and offers a nationwide auction service with the collaboration of our national partner agents who refer clients to us.  Our auction house has recently extended into the European market, with a recent launch in Spain!

We also have a national Commercial department which deals with all types of commercial property nationwide and has a superb relationship with our partner agents nationwide, who refer clients regularly. We offer in-house mortgage advice, conveyancing property maintenance, surveying and property management.

All of our 26 branches are interlinked, and we have a large Regional Sales Centre at our Head Office, which is open extended hours with dedicated staff who take the overspill of calls from the branches when they are busy.  This improves our customer service by ensuring that every call is answered. In short, we are the largest North East, family-owned independent agent who has helped the North East move for 46 years and counting.
