Sarah
Meakin is one week into her new career as head of Pattinsons new homeworker
division and her feet have barely touched the ground.
The 24-year-old has worked in the property industry since graduating from
Northumbria University and jumped at the chance to further her career in this
new and growing area of estate agency.
Sarah said: I cant remember a week when Ive been this busy! The number of
enquiries about homeworking is incredible and its been a very positive
experience discussing the concept with interested people.
Pattinson is the largest independent estate agency in the North East and we
pride ourselves on being at the forefront of innovations like this which, will
benefit both our customers and staff.
Our website www.pattinson.co.uk is usually the first port of call for
homebuyers seeking property information and its also been the major source of
enquiries about homeworking.
The main thing that stands out for me even at this early stage is that theres
no such thing as a typical homeworker.
Ive spoken to a lot of people considering it as a way to supplement their
income from an existing full time job, parents seeking a career with flexible
hours to fit around childcare as well as a number of retired men and women.
Sarahs next challenge is organising the first homeworker training session in
early April.
She added: Theres been an awful lot to take on board in my first proper week
in this job, but Im thoroughly enjoying myself. Theres more interest in the
property industry than ever before thanks to television programmes like
Location, Location, Location and its a pleasure helping other people get
into this rewarding career for themselves.
