Home is
where the career is for Pattinsons Sarah Meakin in her position as head of the
new homeworker division.
A graduate in Business Administration at Northumbria University, the 24-year-old
has extensive experience in the property industry.
Sarah said: Im thrilled with the appointment. Im really pleased to have been
given the opportunity to develop in another area of estate agency, and managing
the homeworker division is a huge step forward for me.
During my time in the property industry Ive seen huge changes. With more
people using the Internet, email alerts and the need for longer service hours,
Im keen to stay at the forefront of innovation in estate agency and a
homeworker division is the next logical step for Pattinson to enhance customer
service and Im glad to be a part of it.
Sarahs first challenge will be to recruit a team of Pattinson agents who will
work from home and applications are already flooding in. She says: Im looking
for people who love property who arent necessarily actively looking for a job,
they may be in a career break or may have other commitments.
The perfect homeworker could be a stay at home mum who perhaps has small
children to look after or a retired person whod like to be working but wants
flexible hours. So far, our website www.pattinson.co.uk has been a great source
of new enquiries.
As well as recruitment, a big part of Sarahs role will be in training. She
adds: All Pattinson agents will receive full estate agency training. At the
moment, Im coordinating a totally flexible training programme that our
homeworkers can fit in around their existing commitments.
The flexible working hours that the homeworker scheme offers will result in one
of the biggest changes in Sarahs work.
In previous roles Ive worked to specific hours and days. But, as were
encouraging the homeworker team to work any hours they wish on any day of the
week, I need to make sure Im there to offer Pattinson support whenever my team
need it.
