Linda Surfs to Suprise New Career
While searching for a new home on Pattinson's website www.pattinson.co.uk, Linda Simpson also unexpectedly found a new career in property.
She now works from home in Chester-le-Street as a self-employed Pattinson agent, balancing time between this and being the director of her own catering business.
Linda says: "I run my own catering firm in partnership with my daughter and the nature of the business means activity often comes in peaks and troughs. Being able to choose when, and how often, I work for Pattinson allows me to successfully combine these two careers - something which would be impossible without genuinely flexible hours.
"There really is no such thing as a typical day for me now and that's just what I love. People sometimes wrongly associate working from home as a lonely vocation but in fact I find it just the opposite.
"The nature of my job is extremely social - meeting with different customers on a daily basis and I especially enjoy working closely in conjunction with my local Pattinson branch in Chester-le-Street. I also choose to get out and about as much as I can - making accompanied viewings and carrying out valuations all over the region."
