Countdown To HIPs
From 1 June it will be illegal to sell your home in England and Wales without a Home Information Pack (HIP). These will cost between £500 and £700 so anyone considering selling their home and hoping to avoid this expense should list their property for sale very soon.
Pattinson managing director, Justin Anim, is urging potential vendors to consider their options now or risk paying out.
He says: "Whether you're for or against HIPs, they will become a legal requirement from 1st June so if you are planning to sell your home it makes sense to do so sooner rather than later.
"Forward thinking vendors will be looking for a swift sale before the changes become mandatory and we're expecting an uplift in properties listed through us over the next two weeks. My advice is take action now before the rush begins and allow time for us to achieve the best possible price for your home."
With 30 branches throughout the region - all linked with live data of houses for sale - Pattinson can ensure maximum exposure to more buyers. It is also unique in its ability to manage customer queries outside of regular office hours through its Customer Care Centre, which is open 8am - 8pm Monday to Saturday and 10am - 6pm Sunday, and through its network of self employed agents working from home who are available evenings and weekends to accompany viewings and value properties.
Justin adds: "Newcastle was chosen as one of the pilot areas for the HIP trial runs and Pattinson successfully guided more customers with HIPs through the new process than anyone else in the region.
"We're now thoroughly prepared for the new requirements and I'd recommend anyone who is unsure what the financial and legal implications of HIPs are in regard to their own property to visit our website www.pattinson.co.uk for information."
If you would like to sell your property before HIPs become a mandatory requirement let Pattinson help you find a buyer by calling 0845 155 0111.
